Well, I had something once that was *called* rattlesnake, at a Tex-Mex place... but I think it was just chicken in hot sauce. It seems to me that snake would be a lot of work deboning for very little meat.

I gave my books to Vicki, LOL!

and if it cracked (lets say it cracked into a zigzag, so you have a fair matched 1/2's, like those old bestfriends charms), could you tumble it again? or would the tumbling make it too thin? Is there a way you could "repair" the ends?
I guess what I am asking, not just for the "matched" sets, but if it did crack, can you retumble, and just make another shape?
mary
Depending on how much shell is left it could be re tumbled... I would suggest sanding and filing the piece and leaving it that way. Everything happens for a reason. Harry New Zealand Paua Shell at
I am heading out to Alaska if there are no snakes.
Are you serious?

Welcome, Debbie!
Leave it with me for a day or two and I will scan the bottle and explain what I am trying to do or would like to do. I will email it to you for your thoughts on it. Shirley

i've done several "sea themes" for people, with dolphins and such, but all i had to work with was abalone. his paua shells in the center would really set one of the large ones off!

Just a quickie note. When my large pieces come out of the tumbler I will be sure to make a few surrounded with holes to see what they would look like.

I will have to make a few and see what they would look like. :) I am seeing soemthing on the lines of a spider web with a piece of Paua in the center instead of the spider.

**grin**mine usually use about 7. but that's not necessarily standard. that's why i said one would do.
however "surrounded" probably has possibilities, too.
