I just love my new gadget! (only slightly OT)

No, not that kind of gadget!!!!

I bought a card reader yesterday. I found one on eBay, it was a mere 6 squid, postage included and am I ever overjoyed with it. It's a little USB gem, and loves my CF flash card from the camera. What used to take me half an hour to download now takes ten seconds! I was zoomin' through those pictures like nobody's business.

Wow.

And another wow.

I just LOVE it. If it had beads it would be heaven. I can take pictures of beads in record time now, which is an absolute blessing for me and Mike both, as he doesn't have to listen to me moaning about how long it takes to get the pictures from the camera to the computer.

I was absolutely amazed at how quick it was. It treats the card as a hard drive, up pops the images and whoosh they're wherever you want them to be stored.

I was almost in tears as my old camera takes two different cables, a chunk of chewing gum, a program written in Sanskrit and three helpings of chocolate before it downloads anything. Ok, the chocolate is for me but I need it after the third time the program crashes.

Get your really nice DH to buy you one! They're cheap and cheerful and worth every penny.

Heck, you could probably pay for it with beads. :-)

ps: I hope you're feeling better, I worry about you.

DH would probably bring me one home from work if he knew I wanted one. I'll ask this evening. They are always giving stuff away there. I finally stopped all the t-shirts after we had 50,000 to throw out. It wasn't really that many but you know how I feel, right?

oooh, we never get t-shirts as a benefit from where Mike works, high schools aren't much on corporate giveaways! Plus, in the UK the t-shirt as a statement of personal attitude isn't that common, and bumper stickers are non-existent.

Have DH get you a card reader, they are definitely worth it!

My son got me a card reader for Christmas three years ago. It made things easier. It is on my old computer that is in the other bedroom.

This new computer has more slots in than the parson preached about. It has slots for smart media and smart cards, plus credit cards

It has got about 7 drives on it.

Its possibilities are way beyond me. Shirley
