Innovative Beads Expo

I won't be going to this one because it's too far away, but I attend the Innovative shows a couple of times a year when they are near me. The vendors vary depending on location. In general, I've found that they are smaller shows, two rooms on average. The women who run these shows have silver beads imported from India, good quality. Lots of clasps, spacers, etc. The other vendors are mostly gemstone and pearl dealers. One vendor has really nice jade beads. The gemstone dealers sell high quality beads at good prices. Usually, there will be one or two vendors per type of merchandise, so you will see trade beads, fiber, swarovski, glass, and there are usually several lampworkers who are self-representing artists. The promoters are very strict about what the vendors can and cannot sell so you may have to look around to get a variety of items rather than being able to buy Softflex, seed beads and gemstones at one booth, but it's always fun to tour a whole bead show. Have a great time, and post what your impressions and what you've bought afterwards, ok? I always enjoy virtual bead shopping.

Kathie, I just checked the vendor list for that show. Beads Began is the lady with the great Jade beads. And, one of my friends, Nolly Gelsinger (Bead Ladies) will be there selling her lampworked beads, they are really gorgeous and very reasonably priced. Say hi to Nolly for me if you stop by.

I'm hoping to make it into this show. I went to that one last year, and I had a great time. I have a bad habit of waiting until the last minute to sign up for things, though, so I haven't made all the shows I want.
