When presented with a huge temptation (my Muscovy drake) this morning the dog did put his mouth on the bird, but let it go immediately when I gave him a "drop it!" command and tapped his nose. He used a gentle mouth, too, because the bird was unharmed (if a bit miffed, hehe).

I had the guy out on a leash this morning. He has little stamina so I'm thinking he's been crated for a while and given little or no excercise. He does know "sit" and "heel" and will obey those commands pretty reliably.

"Stay" needs some work.

I observed the dog to put his bad leg down several times, so the anti-inflammatory medication and antibiotics may be kicking in.

This guy really REALLY needs a forever home, or a foster willing to keep him on his meds. I'll work with anybody to bring the dog current on his shots and have him neutered.

I'll email details about the dog on request - he's really a good dog and deserves a better home than the one he escaped from.

Heh. Puppy Wizard is a man named Jerry HOWE. Wherever he can, his name is inserted into his posts. (I wonder if he has some sort of auto-fill for that?) I suspect he has at least one female relative named Kally -- as that shows up in the posts as well. And of course the word puppy. He made a brief entrance into the Quilting newsgroup awhile ago.

Don't know if jack @$$ is the most fitting title -- let's just say he is COMMITTED to his methods of puppy training, and woe to the unsuspecting person who crosses his path. You can do that easily by mentioning things like neutering, pinch collars, or the invisible fence (electric fencing). Once on his 'list' he will follow you to the ends of Usenet.
