Lol. Those are great, but I think I've been doing too much wire wrapping. I was picturing two slides fused together with some organisim thing between them.

You know - me either - and when the thread about them went on, I had no idea what it was about. ;)

Oh, I see! You put pictures in them!! Thanks goodness - I thought it was some weird techy thing. LOL

*sighing and rolling eyes* You grrlie grrls are SO silly. It would serve you right if I chased you around this newsgroup with a frog in my hand....

(using whiny voice) But I was seeeeeeeerious!! I could just picture a microscope slide pendant wirewrapped! Ewwww. This could get icky. I can picture scientists wearing them with whatever for of bacteria they specialize in, around their necks! Kinda makes a statement. I'd better stop. I'm getting all these ideas. My RN background is sneaking back in.

my hand....<

And if you do, Tink, can I keep him? Huh, huh, can I???

]Ew! You guys have seen the stuff we're talking about now, right? If anyone ]missed it, here it is (one example, anyway): ] ]Collaged Slide Pendants ]

they are "slides with 'stuff' between them, right?just not "organisms". the directions are incredibly hard for me to read, so i'm going to have to paste them on something with a white background, as soon as i have a chance.

] the Tinkster will be making a quantum leap on several levels. ]Please keep your fingers crossed. Part of the presentation has to include ]stuff like "who is your competition", "what makes YOU competitive", "what is ]the materials cost for one typical bead", "what is the growth forecast for ]beading businesses".... I'm cross-eyed from all this.

and we'll be able to say "we knew her when".

Eeeek! Sounds scary, but I know you will do well, Tink. You rock! Kick some a$$!

There is one scientist/artists that does wonderful photography of the microscopic world. Lots of virus photos with fantastic colors. Steve would know who, I think the guy was a crime lab/forensic pathologist or very into DNA. They had some of his work in the lab.

Oh, stupendously good luck with this. I think it is a bear trying to talk to 'quantifiers' about something that is intrinsically 'qualitative' to me. But if it gives your bead making a boost, then you go, grrrl.

YEEHAW, Tink!!! WTG!

the spot for $120!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<

I am not the least bit surprised!

I've been so nervous about this for the past week. But I had all my ducks lined up and quacking in tune. These guys are the head of a MicroEnterprise foundation and help promising businesses get off the ground.

They offer tons of services, not the least of which is helping you figure out how to work smarter, not harder. They came up with a couple of ideas today off the cuff that will go far towards streamlining things for me. They said that my business, as it stands, is very well thought out and functional, and that I have a definite talent for marketing and design. The coolest thing they said (other than the fact that they want to back me) was that they've never seen anyone come through their door more poised for success!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm getting ready to curl up on the couch and work on my Wish List... They didn't think I had listed enough needs, amazingly! I'm still in shock over the whole thing. I mean, they want to pay for me to go to Bead and Button next year... and the gathering... and for my Mickelsen session. I'll be getting an O2 generator, a polariscope, an electric crucible, glory hole... All the glass I want... tools... mandrels... Auralens glasses... a new digital camera... I can't believe this.

They gave me a load of forms to fill out, and I also have to fit my info to their standard business plan format and email that to them as soon as possible. I don't think I'll be able to concentrate on anything else until I get that done.

If my amazing day weren't enough, my ex called tonight saying that he had gotten me a present in celebration of my successful day. He's always picking up little things that he thinks I'll like. One of my favorites was a set of red blinking valve stem caps for my red convertible. LOL! So he comes over this evening to give me the present: It's a 17" LCD flat screen monitor with a TV tuner and S-Vid input! I can use that at shows to play my slide show! Not to mention my teeny tiny computer desk will be SO much more useful with the flat screen monitor taking up less room.

So, all in all, a particularly fabulous day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for letting me share...

]I only sleep a couple of hours a night, sweetie pie. ] ]The meeting today could NOT have gone any better, BTW!!!! Not only am I ]accepted into the program, but it looks like I will be fully funded. Of ]course, there's a TON of red tape first, and there's always a chance that a ]monkey wrench will be thrown into the works, but it looks GOOD! ] ]And to top it off, one of the guys in the meeting bought a necklace from me ]on the spot for $120!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I KNEW IT! I JUST KNEW IT!!!!!!!!

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Grab your "Tink Beads" while you can, people - you won't be able to afford her soon!
