landscape beads

I was trying a couple of landscape beads, and then put a tree on one. Lol. I think I put on a little too much tree for the bead, but other than it going around the side, I like both these beads a lot.

I like that the tree grows around the side.

Thanks! I've thought about doing a seasonal set with a tree. Just one of those things I've never gotten around to. A friend of mine did something like that in stained glass, and it was really pretty.

I really like it!!! I like the size (of course, it's just me), and I like the wrap effect.

There's a lot you could do with this. If you want to concentrate on the tree, I think it's the perfect size. If it's the landscape you want to concentrate on, then perhaps it's a touch big. But you could do things like put a nest (or a bluebird), put a bunny at the bottom, flowers...all sorts of things.

I think you have got it with this bead!

Those are both wonderful beads. My husband says to tell you that you could sell the beads to EverQuest players as "Druid Beads". Just incase you don't know, EverQuest is a massively multiplayer online game. It is a 3D version of Dungeons and Dragons with graphics, and Druids are a nature loving class that meditate on nature and rely on nature to help protect them.

Thanks Marissa, I'll have to look up EverQuest. Lol. Maybe I should put a bead on ebay and call it Everquest! Lol. I did play D&D in college but that was forever ago.

Thanks Mary, I've been trying to think of what else I'd want to put on them besides trees.

If you were playing D&D in college, it wasn't all that long ago. Now if you told us you went streaking..............

Lol. I think I'm only a few years too young for streaking! I do remember seeing one of the World Series games in the 70s, on tv, where a couple of guys went streaking! We lived in the Philippines, and didn't see get to see a lot of tv, but the games were shown, after they'd been overwith. I remember my father NOT wanting to hear the news because he didn't want to know who won the games, but wanted to watch them.

Add apples, buds to trees. Stars to sky. Flowers. A house and a lake. A lake and a boat. Greenman.

I love those! I really do like the tree going around the side, too :o)

Ok, I might have to take up painting on beads to do some of that!

I wasn't thinking of something painterly. Like for the boat on a lake, just have a puddle of blue in the bead for the lake and put a stylized boat on it. And for greenman. Well he's just supposed to be a face that emerges from among the leaves. So if the "landscape" were made up of teardrop/leaf shapes and the glass could be prodded into a suggestion of a face, you'd have a greenman,

Thanks Kathy! I did another that I think I really LIKE the tree on. Yay!

A beginning friend came over today, and I showed her how and she made a landscape, without the tree. She was so thrilled. After it's annealed, I'll wire it for her and she can wear it.
