new beads and some whine

I've been swamped with nonbead life (You mean there's more to life than beads?) and whining about not having any torch time, but I do have a few things to show.

Yesterday, my DD's godmother was taking her off for the day, but then her vehicle broke down, and I ended up picking her up, driving her around, etc., so there went that day of beads that I'd soooooooooooooo been looking forward to. I can't complain too loudly because her truck blew a rod or something similarly fatal, and has gone to that great truck lot in the sky. All I know is that there's a big ol' hole in the engine, where there wasn't suppose to be one.

Last weekend, I took a Stevie Belle class and had a lot of fun. I went into the class thinking I really wasn't going to learn anything new, but was going just to maybe stretch my imagination a little, be inspired and challanged. She uses a lot of surface decoration, which I have done, but I'm usually too lazy to get out all the powders and stuff. It seems like I'm messy enough, without making more mess.

My very favorite was this hollow vessel. If I can find some seed beads to match the metalic look, I'll make this into a necklace:

This quilt bead was the first thing we did. I think mine's kind of ugly, but it was a fun exercise:

I didn't like this texture bead, and I didn't like hers either, so I guess they're just not for me:

A BIG HONKIN' dichro bead:

My first vessel that I cracked when I was making it. I think I melted it in enough to heal it, but I was frustrated and didn't bother straightening the handles out any further, figuring it was a waste of time:

I don't know why I don't do hollows. I learnd how, probably 5 years ago, and just never do them, but this was fun:

Now, I have two of Spike's buds staying with us for the week, so I'm probably not going to get a lot of beads made this week either! It is one big playfest here, with the four dogs, except at the moment, everyone has crashed after hours of chasing and playing ball. Spike is such a clown. He lets everyone get some rest and then tries to get things started up again, hoping everyone will start chasing him.

hole in the engine?? it's a bead!! Just kidding. I'm sorry you've been so swamped. Nothing as major as a thrown rod here, but I can relate otherwise.

I just love love love the vessels you've made! Good luck this week. After they're gone, take a day, tell everyone to get lost and make beads to your heart's content. (((((((Jerri)))))))

LOL! Jalynne, I am laughing so hard over this. I'll have to tell my friend. I think she'll find it funny, too. Her truck had 235,000 miles on it, so she was pretty philisophical about the demise.

Pretty cool vessels, even the wonky handled one. The angel is great, too! Here's some wishes for free bead time for you!

He is just one big ball of joy. I love him!

Love the vessels (especially the one that cracked, LOVELY), and the angel (looks like a graveyard edifice), and the dichro, Jerri. BEEYOOTEEFUL!!!!!!!!!!!! ~~ Sooz To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~~Joseph Chilton Pearce

Thanks Barb! It was neat because she goes about making her figures a little differently than I do.

I really like this vessel a lot too!
