Some New Eye Candy (and another one assimlated)

This was a pattern that was in the WAJ magazine about wire wrapping a bead. It gave me lots of good ideas for things I could do with my own pendant-type beads:

I don't like the way it's open at the bail, like a pearl enhancer, I guess. I'd like to try another, but closing that part next time. I really like the concept though.

Then I tried a couple of these cube bangle braclets. I've done them with three rows of cubes, and LOVE those bracelets, but they're kind of dressy looking. This is more like something I would wear all the time. I had a little trouble with the first one. One of the wires kept trying to twist, so it came out a little wonky:

I did better with the 2nd one:

While I was playing, my 10 yr. old daughter wanted to pick out something to try from the kids' section of the WAJ magazine, so she made this 3 in 3 bracelet. I think I have a jr. chain maker! I'd like to see if I can find a better colored wire. This is that coated stuff, so you can really tell on the ends, but she did a great job and was very proud of it. I think it took her about 2 hours.

Just wait until you take your class. Then it'll be a piece of cake! This was pretty easy. I really think it makes a pretty pendant. I just don't like the open part.

Nice work, Jerri! I like the cube bracelets - wish I could make my stiff and sore hands do that kind of work, but I think that's beyond my reach now. And your daughter's work is wonderful! Did she cut the rings all by herself too?

Thanks for sharing your new goodies - you are always an inspiration!

Wonderful work Jerri. I really like that twisted wire. Looks so elegant.

I know you don't like the open part, but I could see myself wearing this with my pearls. Kinda give them an everyday look, know what I mean? I have a gorgeous pearl enhancer but I hardly wear it because it was so dang expensive.

But Starlia dear, that's exactly the reason TO wear it! By wearing it every day, or twice a week, or whatever, it brings down the price. You can say, "See, it cost $$$, but I've worn it 100 times, so that brings down the cost to only X per wear!

You just have to be logical about these things ;)

Can't wait to hear about it!

Thanks Kandice! It doesn't realy show in the pictures, but the beads are that "rainbow frost", so they're a matte finish with an irridized look.

Thanks Mj! Yes, the only thing I helped with was drawing a straight line on the rings so she could cut them, after she'd coiled them around a pencil. I also made the hook for her. She was pretty cute, and I thought fairly patient to sit there and work on it for 2 hours!

Lol. Well, let me make one or two more and make sure I have the technique down. My 2nd one was so much better than my first, which wasn't bad, that I feel like I'll have the hang of these pretty well. It's very similar to another bracelet I do, so it wasn't that hard. This one is one I like a lot, but it's a lot dressier and not something I'd wear all the time like I would these smaller ones.

I've showed these before, but I don't know if you were around then, Debbie. If I make another one, what color would you like to see? ;)

Thanks Stalia! I really like the idea. Definitely something I want to play with some more.

*sighs* And yet another example of what I someday hope to be able to do! I loved them all..and I kinda like that open part at the top on the first wrap. And I'm secretly going to wage war on ya until I can wrestle that green cube bracelet from ya! LOL

Your dd's piece was wonderful...she'll be putting up her own web store soon, I'm sure! hehehehe It reminded me of the suff I used to wear all the time in highschool....

Great work,

Candace

Lol! Thanks Candace! The green was my first one and you can see it's not quite straight. I'm going to try it again, but I'll just wear and enjoy this one.
