WAJ magazine--here I am

I FINALLY got my WAJ magazine yesterday! I thought I'd share my little blurb in the Tips and Techniques section, if anyone wants to see. I know most people here aren't wire workers and wouldn't get the magazine.

It's just a small thingl, but it's fun to see something you did in print!

It is fun to see yourself in print, isn't it? I read WAJ all the time, but have not read "the latest". Gonna tak a copy and put it on my refrigerator (wink).

That is so cool.

Honestly, I don't feel you are a beginner. You blow me away with your creations. I feel you are one of the best I've ever seen.

Congratulations! When the editors of WAJ tell you how well you did, will you start to believe you are no longer a beginner? You should!

If you saw some of the stuff in the magazine, you'd understand why I feel like such a beginner!

You know, that's how I felt when I first found this group. I was intimidated that "everybody" was so much better than I. But in reality, t1)here's a whole range of talent, and 2) all of us tend to show only our best efforts. The pieces that makes us feel like beginners don't get put into magazines or on links.

Or even shown to family. I've used about three times the thread that you'd expect for the number of beads I've woven, because I am absolutely ruthless about ripping out anything that's not perfect.

I was eyeing the kokoshnik the other night and Bob saw me. As soon as my hand reached out to touch it, he said, "Don't you dare! Just because you see it doesn't mean that anyone else can. It looks great - leave it alone."

He's right, although there is a piece of netting I'm going remove and redo in it. It doesn't hang the way I want it to.

Most of us are our own worst critics, by a long shot.
