looking for a loom

Hello- I'm starting to research various bead looms. I already have a small wood loom, but I want one that gives me some flexibility with project size and bead size. I'm seriously coinsidering looms from Bead Artistry, Beadlooms, and Hofmann Originals. I don't see any difference between Beadlooms and Hofmann Originals - suspect one may be a copy of the other but not sure which one was first. I've looked at Mirrix - can't afford that right now. Does anyone have any feedback on either these looms, or another that you've tried and liked? TIA Beth

vj found this in rec.crafts.beads, from "roxan" :

]Why not make your own, it is very easy to do. I made mine out of a door ]spring from the hardware store attached to a long pine board. You then wrap ]the thread in and out of the spring. This is very cheap to do and work ]really well.

i have one like that, made by my ex. the spring on one end is stationary. the spring on the other end is moveable - which comes in VERY handy.
