new question

i became frustrated with all the stringing "threads" a long time ago. i tend to pull the tension pretty tight on my work and then when the thread stretched, my design got too loose.

i tried some of the "Soft-flex-type" stuff. didn't like the way it hung, at all.

Fireline is perfect for most of what i do.

until last night. all the pretty seed beads i bought - **sigh** many of them are 15s. including all the golds and browns, which were for my next "Tink-bead". and every "pattern" i've come up with for it requires that the needle/thread go through the bead at least two or three times.

so - what do you use on beads that small????

Fireline.

The smallest size (4 lb) will go through it just fine.

Nymo-- off a spool, not a bobbin. They're different.

Soft Flex won't drape as well as Soft Touch - you can use Soft Touch in the .10 size - that will even knot as long as you use a little dab of glue. It drapes amazingly well.

I don't recall ever "prestretching" the spooled Nymo, and haven't had any problem of gapping on peyote st amulet bags. However, I tend to pull tight when I stitch, so perhaps I'm stretching it sufficiently as I work. I use round seed beads-- not Delicas; the one full-sized project I did in Delicas is buckled in spots due to too much tension-- again, stretching doesn't seem to be happening, even though, in this case, it would be desirable. I don't use it for stringing, except for "love beads" type strands. Kaytee "Simplexities" on
