OT: Embossing ink pads

I have two tinted embossing ink pads. Does anyone know if I can use these for ordinary stamping? What are they usually used for?

(Ok I admit it -- they were cheap and I thought they'd come in useful .....)

you use them with embossing powder. load up your stamp (well defined designs work best...if it's too intricate, it won't work well, and you'll end up with a muddy mess) with embossing ink, stamp the paper or surface and sprinkle embossing powder (it comes in ALL kinds of colours) on it. Tap off the excess, and use either an embossing heat tool or a flame (being careful not to set fire to whatever it is you're stamping, and make sure it's evenly melted. I love this look...and use it a lot when scrapbooking. Would like to use it with beads, too. Hope this helps. There are also embossing ink pens you can use for doing your own freestyle designs or to emboss your handwriting.

You pretty much have to use embossing powder with them. If you just stamp with them, the ink will evaporate.
