EMBOSSING

Cathy, if you're using VersaMark and not getting good stickage, something is wrong with your EP!! VersaMark is my all time favorite ink for embossing.
Now, please don't take this the wrong way, but I've had a friend who actually made this mistake, so I'm going to mention it... are you sure you're using embossing powder and not just using glitter?
Alison
Hi Cathy,
If your embossing powder is not sticking, that means the ink is drying too quickly which alot of permanet inks do. You need to use a pigment, non permanent ink for best results. I like to use Clearsnap's fluid chalk inks as they are very wet & give you plenty of time to get the embossing powedr on there. You can also use Top Boss which is an embossing ink that comes in clear or tinted.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Liz

If your embossing powder is getting all over, it isusually from static. wipe a static pad over the card or area to be stamp. Then stamp the versamark or ink on then put the embossing powder on. Tap the embossing powder back into an embossing catch tray that has been wiped with the static pad. I have also used a glue pad like Pallette puts out. Let it dry until it is just a little bit sticky.
Hi, JR! Welcome! Please pipe up on a few of the other new threads, too? I wonder how long we can keep up this perkiness??? :-)
Cathy, JR has two *great* ideas/points here... one is the glue pad stuff - it's really cool and fun to play with!... the other is, um - yeah, you gotta pounce, *then* stamp, then sprinkle. If you're stamping then pouncing, that's definitely not going to lead to success! :-) I'd be surprised if that's what you're doing, but we all have those sorts of moments sometimes!

Could Cathy's VersaMark pad be drying out? I need to re-ink mine once in a while to get good results.
Glad you mentioned the glitter versus EP problem. I did that one day and had EP (glitter really) blowing all over the place. I called the store I bought it at and they asked if I was sure it was EP and not glitter I was using. You guessed it...it was glitter. LOL
SAD
hey i need to check my pad to see if its juicy enough..good tip.. now i will make sure i doubble check when EP so i dont make the mistake of glitter..hahaha thanks all cathy
sometimes the embossing powder is the tinsel form and this doesn't stick too well unless it is very wet ink. Plus don't over heat it.
