Embossing Question

I'm still new to embossing. I want to put a clear embossing over a font I printed on cardstock. Can I use momo glue since it won't be stamped? Or is there a special kind of tacky stuff I have to use? I have embossing tinsel powder that I want to use. Sandy

Sandy...I don't know what momo glue is, so can't advice specifically. You can emboss with many things as long as the surface stays wet long enough to apply the embossing powder. If you are unsure...try a little on a bit of waste first and check if the effect is what you want. If you are using glue instead of an embossing pad like Versamark...I would also hold the embossing gun further away from the surface to start off with just in case it scorches...not a nice look. If it doesn't bubble and blister you could then move a little closer. Also run your gun for a little while to make sure that it is hot to start with....that should mean less time needed to melt the embossing powder.

Try a Versamarker, Sandy. I'm not talking about the Versamark pad, but the marker. You'll be able to go right over the letters that way. You might try looking at Hobby Lobby or Michaels for one. HTH!

Sandy, I just embossed the outlines of a few letters and drew, filled in and embossed a letter M using a glitter pen. You don't really need an embossing marker specifically to do the job if it is just a one off. Because the ink from the glitter pen stays wet for a little time you can outline, sprinkle with embossing powder and heat. I did the three letter outline in one hit, then the filled in M.

I have put a sample picture in my Cards & other projects album at the end. It is silver dollar embossing powder on white card, so not super clear but it was just a test to see if it would work :o)

No... I didn't make those....LOL They feature in the Jane Jenkins quilling book that I got at the Hobbicrafts exhibition. You must have missed the post where I said that I would put a picture up on them, so folks could see how beautiful quilling could be. It was when we spoke about the round sweety tin DH brought home from shopping thinking I could "alter" that one too!. I think you could quill on it and turn it into a nice trinket box...LOL
