OT Erin - hospital - Day 2

still no baby, dammit! They did an internal exam this morning and determined that she was about 40% effaced, and they could fit one fingertip in her cervix...less than 1 cm dilated. She was on pitocin all day today till 5:30...they did another internal exam and she was about 70% effaced, and cervix in the same condition, only softer. They're gonna hook her up to the machines again at 6 am. Tonight, we were informed that we were leaving, as her midwife has given strict orders to them to try the oldest solution for stubborn babies...she had "Do not Disturb-Treatment in Progress signs printed for the doors to her suite, and Marc was ordered to perform Erin has to take a sleeping pill by 8 pm, and that'll be their night. Believe me, I didn't want to stay for that! So...tomorrow morning they're going to make a decision as to whether they're going to break her water, assuming that will get things moving, or not. If they do, that puts us on a 24-30 hour timetable. If not, most likely, Erin will try to hold out for 10 days, and if not, will have to have a caesarian with a "stand-in" doctor while he's gone.
