OT Help me pick the necklace for the charity auction

Hey all,

I've made 2 necklaces as candidates for the charity auction I've been asked to donate a piece for. I like both of these - one of them I made with the idea that it would be the auction piece, then the other one "happened" last night.

So - help me decide - choose Necklace 1 (vintage and contemporary S. crystals, antique steel cut seeds, Japanese seeds, Bali silver, freshwater pearls, sterling toggle, artist lampwork beads (I'll name the artists after the selection has been made)

OR Necklace 2- Czech seeds (I think), Smoky Quartz, S. crystals, a pale blue/green stone I can't remember the name if, Bali Silver, sterling toggle, Artist lampwork beads.

They are both great, but I love that first one! I like the double row with pearls. It's very nice.

They are both wonderful! I think #1 is just a little more elegant than #2. I would bid more for #1.

I think it will depend on how much you want to give the auction folks. One necklace is MORE than the other, right? More elaborate, more materials, etc.

Because I think they're both gorgeous as can be. I'd probably go for necklace # 1 myself, but that's just because it's closer to my taste. ~~ Sooz

Another vote for #2. They are both lovely, but I like the larger focal.

Kathy: They are both gorgeous. #2 is a more simple design that I think more people would be interested in. The one Charity Auction that I have been involved with, items are not getting the higher bids any longer. It seems to be the same people bidding all the time (The word needs to be spread to more groups etc) Karen B

Ok the "votes" are in!! And necklace #1 will be going to the charity auction! That was the one I had originally planned to send to the auction. The focals were made by Catherine Howard (Valentine Glass). The focals in #2 were made my Kaye Husko (Kaye~O and Dan~O lampwork).

Apparently this is to be a very high end auction (they are trying to raise $25,000). Some of the other auction items include: 2 hours in a flight simulator, 2 hours with the director of CNN while producing a show, a one week stay at an 8,000 sq. ft mountain house in Ga, beach property vacations, wine tasting, a gourmet dinner for 8 at your home by a renowned chef (from the info letter I received). It's also a casino night and some how they are going to have live horse racing. The organizer told me she would let me know how the piece did.

So off it goes into the mail tomorrow!

Thanks everyone for the compliments and comments! And remember #2 is now available for sale :) (oh wait did I just make an ad?)
