That's like my hubby with his silk rug he brought back from Thailand... he wanted to hang it it on the wall! I said, "But the whole point of having good things is that you can use them, and they last longer and look nicer than cheap things." It's on the floor... but in a mostly unwalked-upon area of the house. He was also fairly disbelieving that the Art Nouveau rug in my living room is (or was) a $3000 hand-knotted wool carpet... but I got it for $50 from Rejuvenation after work crews trashed it. A good cleaning and a little repair around the corners and it's still a heckuva nice wool rug!
