The winds have picked up quite a bit, blowing my Subaru all over the road. I'm home, where I will be staying for the duration. Still no word on when we will start REALLY feeling the effects or where it will make landfall in Florida. It seems to have lost speed traveling over the Bahamas.
The newscasters have said if the speed stays under 9 mph it will probably hit us directly. If the speed picks up to over 9 mph it will most likely veer north and strike further up the Florida coast.
I saw a boarded-up building on the way home from work, and painted on the plywood was "Go ahead, Frances, BLOW ME!"
