Hugs and healing thoughts coming your way.
(((((((((((((((((Merc & Sooz)))))))))))))))))

You guys are too much. TOO MUCH.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Yes, Kevin is Merc's daddy here -- we don't consider anyone else, actually, as his dad. We love the grey furry guy so much. He would SO appreciate Spike's offer to share the fleecy man! WOW! (Merc almost pulled his IV out with excitement!)
He's on antibiotics now because of his elevated white blood cell count. Still not enough info, but I'm expecting a call around 9 tomorrow morning with more. He ate some baby food! >BIG HUZZAHS HERE AT HOME<
I'm not really worried per se -- more heartsick. I LOATHE having him hurt. It's making me stay awake tonight, but I'm getting sleepy now and will probably go to bed. He's such a good boy. You should've seen him with Becki!! He even butted her with his nose! (High compliment *indeed*.)
I'm so wanting to know what's wrong with him. I will keep you informed. Your posts have meant so much to me I can't even tell you. I felt so lost after I left him at the vet....I wandered around shopping (OF COURSE, haw haw haw!) to anesthetize myself. But I made myself choose wise thngs to buy (and got some great deals and beautiful things at Ross, which is like TJ Maxx and Marshall's). It felt better afterward when I saw all the pumpkins in front of the supermarket next door to Ross! But dammit, not a single cocoabat within.
Thank you, dear hearts. I think I can sleep now. I can't wait to see his little face again. Thank you, and all your furry babies, too. ~~ Sooz To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~~Joseph Chilton Pearce
Awwww, thinking of Merc, you and Kevin and sending good healing vibes. The Wheaties have their paws crossed for him. So hard when they hurt and can't tell you what is wrong! JanG
Oh, poor Mercury! We're all sending love, love, love and healing/comfort light to him....
You and Kevin take care - I know how horribly draining this is. ~sigh~
Best, Deborah
Sooz & Kevin, Good news that Merc is feeling a little better. Sending lots of good thoughts and prayers. Pets have an incredible spirit. My Siamese, Taupaws, was very close to death a few years ago during Memorial Day weekend. We managed to give him IV's and meds and he made it. He's fine now. Patti
Oh Sooz! I've been gone and missed all this, and I know all's well now but I'm still wracked for you guys! ((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))

~UPDATE ON THE MERCURY MAN!~
He's doing SO FANTASTICALLY WELL. It seems almost like he knows he's not going Back There (to Evil Land).
He's perky and interested, and can actually walk faster than a skulk now. He's eating, he's stretching comfortably as he lounges on the carpet, etc. His wound is just healing up faster than the speed of light. He even runs a little here and there!!!!
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR MIRACULOUS VIBES. I do believe each and every one of them reached their target.

The news just keeps getting better. I'm so happy Merc is healing well, this makes my day.
I have to agree with Marissa, things look better and better each passing moment. Hurrah for the three of you.
I worked my butt off to get him better, but there's no substitute for RCB vibes. He was force-fed baby food, had two warm compresses daily, etc.....He's a trouper. And a good boy. He says "Tell all the chicks to come on over, I'm ready." ~~ Sooz To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~~Joseph Chilton Pearce
I just found this post and had to go back and search for the previous threads, I just couldn't believe what I was reading!
This is terrific news, Sooz!! Just wonderful, and I am so happy for all of you!! :)
Ain't that the truth!
How about a pic when you're feeling up to it? 8-)

Oh, I am so glad. LOVE to Mercury!!! And to you and Kevin of course. Yey!!!
Merc got his toy (squeaky fuzzy hedgehog) yesterday and INSISTED I play with him. For about 45 minutes.
In the past, for years, he'd only play for about 3 minutes. Then it was over for him, he wasn't interested. (Well, he's not a puppy anymore...) I was just amazed at this interest and persistence. It gave me such a THRILL. He must've been feeling really good! I almost cried.

Yeah! what a wonderful Mom you are, nurturing him so.

You know, I kiss and hug him more now. Before, I hate to say it, all contact with him was tinged with sorrow, and fear for his safety, so I think I felt less loving. That's so awful.
But the great thing about dogs is they live in an eternal moment of Now, so all he thinks about is "I'm getting hugged and kissed." Thank goodness. ~~ Sooz To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~~Joseph Chilton Pearce
YAY Mr. Mercury! Give him an affectionate glance on my behalf!

I wonder if he was a tad depressed? And now, in his enormous relief to be with you full-time, it's lifted and he can feel playful again?
