Everyone needs a quick project now and then....

Last spring I ran across a lovely preprinted panel of spring flowers and things at a LQS here and couldn't resist buying it, though I haven't often used preprinted things before. Over the long weekend, with DH away at a golf tournament, I needed a quick project that wouldn't take much thinking , so I got this out. I found a perfect border fabric in my stash and used free-motion quilting with rayon threads to accent many of the motifs on the panel and to do a daisy chain in the border. The wall hanging was finished last night and looks pretty nice in our dining area

-- even though it's not spring right now. ;) It's on my Miscellaneous page (why are so many of my projects ending up as miscellaneous??) at , right under the Ramada Gals quilt.

Wow! I like that, Sandy! Nice job on getting it all finished at once, instead of starting it, putting it down, starting something else, working a bit on that other thing, fiddling on computer... Oh, wait. That's me. :-)

*and* me, usually! I still have a few things "in progress" (various stages, at that), but I really needed to finish something.

Thanks, Sandy! BTW, I've fallen in love with those Bohin needles! They're really nice. :) Thanks again -- I'm going to see if my LQS will stock them.

Exactly, Dee! It's good to take a break from the more challenging ones every now and then. :)

I couldn't believe it when I saw it, LN. The blue in the panel is sort of a periwinkle, so what were the odds that I'd have something of that particular shade in my stash? Uhhh...come to think of it, the way I feel about blues (and purples), the odds weren't that bad, after all! LOL!

No, not wrong. Just differently productive! Other people do seem to Finish more projects than me, but I'm having fun anyway!

LOL! We've been using my Unfinished Xena quilt for months now! It's more comfortable without the safety pins, but the edge of the batting is still scratchy. :-P

I agree we all need a quickie project now and then. My last "quickie project" was the little hen pin cushion. It took less that 1 hour and was so cute I made another.
