OT: Opening a real STORE!!!!

No, not a bead store. sorry. Maybe later. Right now I'm involved in opening a Fabric store here in Madras. There isn't a place to buy a spool of thread within 30 miles, and the nearest actual fabric store is in Bend, a 100 mile round trip!

We're calling the place Buttons & Bolts.... featuring both quilting fabrics and tools as well as garment construction fabrics and patterns!!! I'm sooooooooo excited! Down the road, we may add beads, too!

Just thought you might be interested. Target opening date is August 1.

I'm also flying off the day after my birthday (May 19th that is...) to visit one of my bestest friends in Las Vegas for 6 days!!!

Much in store for such a little old me!

Congratulations. You gotta have fabric embellishments with beads of course. It sounds so exciting!

That's so cool!! I lived in Oregon most of my life, and worked at two different fabric stores for several years (Fabric Depot in Portland and Mill End in Beaverton). So many fabric stores closed in Oregon over the years that there just isn't much to choose from anymore. They *need* a new fabric store! Sounds like you will have lots of success! If I am ever in the area, I will definitely visit. I'm a sucker for quilting fabric. Such color inspiration!

Wow! That is SO exciting! And as much as I love the romantic notion of it, I realize what work it is. So please keep us posted... Tell us about your trials and tribulations. And tell me about the true expense of having a storefront. I need to be talked out of it right now. LOL!
