Ok, if you can tolerate more horse babbling...here's some shots from the ranch. Ponch is the new "all mine" horse. Isaiah and MissMeaghan are race horses that we share ownership of. I had a fabuloso shot of his head, but accidentally deleted it from the dang digital camera (learning curve is still ahead of me, apparantly!)

Dang. With a bottom like that, he must have a lot of Foundation QH in him! I can see why he was left intact until recently.
Do you know if he was used for reining or cow work? He's got that look about him.
Apparently Miller QH's had an Arab stud back in the 50's for use in his QH breeding program, so that may be the throwback source of the Araby head. Gov't remount lines are another source of Arab breeding as well.
Actually, that's mostly the camera angle. He's actually pretty narrow in the butt, relative to other QH's on the ranch!
I'm not sure. His former owners didn't take great care of him. My trainer, who turned him on to me, said that the previous owner called to see how he was doing and said if he'd be interested in selling him back after he was "conditioned" (he's got a swollen knee that doesn't give him any pain, but is responding to massage and we think is just a fluid build up from poor husbandry)...he'd buy him back!! Trainer told him "sorry, not for sale!" Haw!
I'm learning that....of course, I have SO much to learn that it bears repeating..and repeating...etc!
Thanks, Michele! Wait till I get his mane pulled and a good grooming! Whooooohoooo!
