Thanks. These are great. I like the poor cat who is mostly shaven. And the white one with sharp little teeth and a wide smile; who might be saying, hungrily, I like you.

Here's the story that goes with the first picture:
My sister-in law is from Oklahoma and has a slight accent. She has cats and when she lived in the south she would take them to the groomers and have what is called a Line Cut. To her a line cut is when all of the fur hanging down below the cat's tummy is taken off (because it gets matted or snarled).
When she moved to Chicago with my brother, one of the cats fur got all tangled up during the move so she took it in for a line cut. She was quite surprised when she heard the price as it was twice as much as it was down south. She confirmed with the groomer that he understood what a line cut was and he said "yes, I know what a LION cut is." It seems her accent came out sounding like LION not LINE and this is how her cat was returned to her.
She cried for a week . . . but not as much as the cat. It was November in Chicago and the cat needed all the fur it had. a.. Gas in car to go to groomers - $4.50 b.. Cat car carrier - $32.99 c.. Grooming fee - $80.00 d.. Getting the look from one seriously pissed off cat - Priceless! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` The haircut is for real, the backstory perhaps a fabrication, according to Snopes

Nope. The Lion is like what you see in those pictures, nekkid but for the head, legs and tail tuft. The Line (which was allegedly mispronounced in the story), AKA the Nantucket Cut, takes the fur off the legs and belly from the waterline on down but leaves the rest.

My dogs look like that, except for them it's natural :)
I am asked all the time if I shave them. I find it hard to imagine that "shave the dog" would ever make it to the top of anyone's to-do list.

Did in my mom's household. Schatze the Schnauser got a buzz cut every summer.

I tried doing the boys' crests with blue one halloween. Didn't have the heart to leave it on long enough to really take... they ended up with a barely discernible slate color :)
Yesterday,
Don King. That's what we call Louie when he gets all gnarly.
Four of them, but one is a powderpuff. The other three are hairless (which means that they have fur on their heads, tails and feet only, for those who haven't seen one).
Well, maybe not in this neighboorhood. But I sure wouldn't do it :)
And, even though I'm retired, more
Yup :)

Yeah, I suppose the summer cut would make it to the top. Didn't think about that :)

Schatze never had to wear a t-shirt, but her little dog-friend from across the street wouldn't speak to her for a week afterward. She was so humiliated that she'd hide in the tall grass on the other side of the driveway any time she went out.
It was really quite hilarious.
