The pattern is by Liz Aneloski, I saw it on Simply Quilts and got the pattern from the HGTV website. There was some instructions missing, but Liz faxed them to me - how great! I was so thrilled with the instructions, the idea, the way the fabrics played in her sample etc that I have bought the book (on its way to me, according to the dealer).I have also posted pictures of two of the six place mats I made my parents for Christmas:

They are all made of Kaffe Fassett designed fabric from Rowan. I love the colours and the stripes, I adore the feel, but they weren't that easy to work with - some corners were pretty out of whack. But the colours make up for it, to my eye :-)The pattern is based on one from on of Kaffe Fassett's books, but I did re-draft to get the size and method I wanted.
I decided that things like this need not have a "real" label, but still needed my name, so I had name tapes made up.
