OT: TINK needs your Good Vibes!!!

Here is an email I got earlier today and want to pass on.....

****Hey Nicole,

Thanks for your email. I have a million to go through, but can't answer everyone because I'm not supposed to be doing anything. I got a viral infection in my lungs, which exacerbated my emphysema and COPD. Turned blue, passed out, the whole nine yards. I am going to be out of commission for at least another week, if not longer. It sucks.

This is the first time I've really been scared about my health. I guess I need to listen to the docs this time. Could you let folks know for me?

Thanks.

Tink*****

I am sure she can use all the good vibes you can send her way.... Nicole

Good health vibes coming straight to Tink!

Nicole, if you can pass on the word, please tell her to eat lots of garlic and onions to keep the lung mucus from getting too clogged, and elderberries or elderberry juice. Elderberries (and garlic too) cuts down the ability of viruses to reproduce and insert themselves into cells, Sarajane

Thank you guys. This is a very scary experience. I guess it's easy to take breathing for granted, even when you have issues related to same. Interestingly, the best guess right now is that I picked up the virus from sharing a blowpipe at my glassblowing class. My respiratory status is always dicey, at best, and I'm really vulnerable to stuff. Sucks.

I'm on a buttload of meds, of course, and on strict orders not to do anything (because exertion of any kind makes me unable to breathe). A simple trip upstairs to the bathroom seems like a cross-country marathon.

At least I'm no longer just sleeping 24/7, but just having to sit around is excruciatingly boring. I am so sick of coughing I can't stand it. At least I'm getting some air now though.

Indeed it does. How do we get you your own blowpipe for class?

I really hate that feeling of being a fish out of water, trying to breathe. Listen to your body. Stay closer to the bathroom. Eventually all that rest helps.

We all miss you, but want you to get well. Plus, its really, really hard to blow glass when you can't breathe.

Good grief. I know you guys were all worried about me but I'm worried about Tink and Candace just as much. I'm thankful that Kathy NV is getting some serious help.

Tink - please feel better soon. You are my glass idol and I can't stand having you sick.

On a more glassy note I've been watching some seriously cool glass shows on HGTV and the history channel. I have all kinds of ideas for kiln work that is going to wait only a little while longer. My girlfriend has already contacted Paragon and has what will do and what I would like on her list. LOL I have been making molds for the sinks I plan on starting so that has me seriously jazzed. Until I get the kiln I have a local place that will fuse and slump my designs for a nominal charge. Yeah!
