OT: Transferring XP files/settings?

RCB is such a font of knowledge, I'm sure some other Geekette (or Geek, for the male fringe here ) will be able to help me.

Two days ago my PC came to a screeching halt, having lost something vital in the registry. Thankfully I hopped onto DD's PC and found a 3-step fix that worked like a charm. (Thank goodness for the good old command line!) We were planning to give my DS my PC and buy a new screamer for ourselves. I'm thinking, now, that I want to format the drive and give him a clean install without the growing-in-frequency blips we've been having (at least I can dream). This system is 4 years old and has served well. All DS really needs it for is typing occasional homework assignments and surfing for video game hints, so we'll all be happy with the trade.

So, yesterday we trotted out to get a new system (HP Pavilion with an AMD

2800 XP chip and a gig of memory. Woohoo!) I have a second drive on which most of my data lives that's going to be moved from one system to the other, but I've got some basic stuff, like my bookmarks and music playlists that I want to preserve. I *think* I know most of what I want to save, but I just know I'll boot up that new system and find something missing. So, any suggestions on what else to copy and save???

Thanks!
