PMC Questions

Kathy (KDK) brought with her some PMC pieces that she had made, and now I'msmitten! She made some GORGEOUS things, to say the least! I have to at leastplay with some now. I have some great ideas for incorporating PMC into someof my lampwork focal designs.1) For those of you who have used both, which is better: PMC or Art ClaySilver? I realize there are several types of PMC, but I don't know what thedifference is.2) Can I fire this in my Don McKinney toolbox annealer without contaminatingit (the kiln)?3) What is a good price for the clay in its various forms, and what is thebest source?4) Would anyone here like to trade some for lampwork beads?

I don't know how it works exactly, but our housemate has a microwave-crucible. Something about using graphite to convert microwaves to heat.

Wow! Never hoid of this... but it sounds cool.

Does it draw less current than a standard resistence-type heater would?

I think so... but I'm not sure, as microwaves do eat a lot of power.
