Praise for Kandice! & another one addicted to beads

My cousin, who is, like, *SO* L.A. (can you hear my tone? LOL), is completely un-crafty. She's into the scrapbooking thing, but that's about it (and she buys everything pre-made for scrapping). She has really been interested in the jewelry I make, and expressed interest in learning how to do it herself. So, I let her brows around through my Beady Favorites list, answered a lot of questions, and we had a great time.

I decided I needed to introduce her to lampwork, and said, "Here, lemme show you my favorite lampworker." (I so don't mean offend any other lampworkers here!), and took her to Kandice's site. I s**te you not, she FELL OUT OF HER CHAIR! The first literal klunk I've ever witnessed ;o) She decided she DEFINITELY needed to learn how to make jewelry (tho couldn't quite grasp the fact that the bead sets pictured aren't actual pieces of jewelry ;o) When she recovered, she spent a good 45 minutes studying every pic on the site :o)

I ended up taking her to eBay, to show her some other lampworkers out there (another concept hard for her to grasp; she kept thinking Kandice invented the beads, and that the others bought them wholesale, mass produced, LOL...she's pretty smart in general, but not so sharp when it comes to the crafty things). She's already determined to win two Corina(sp?) bead auctions, one lampworked black lab, and Kandice's Candy Cubes set that is up right now ;o)

I admit, with a weeping heart, that I have never experienced Kandice's beads in person, but it looks like I might just get a chance to now! Tracey (cousin) has the fundage and the determination, and I get to put the pieces together for her =D The fact that I have converted yet another friend to the wonderful world of beadophilia is just gravy ;o) LOL

~Happy dance!~
