They *are* really cool - Ladybugs and flowers go so well together. :) I might have to start putting little ladybugs on my flower beads. LOL

but if i know you, you wouldn't be. ladybugs in and of themselves can be copyrighted. you wouldn't be doing them the same way, or with the same placement.

I see what you mean.... my particular view is that even if a signature isn't copyrighted, I try really hard not to do anything like it out of respect to the artist in question. I haven't seen this person's ladybugs on beads, so I wouldn't really be copying anyway, but I still try really hard not to even come close to copying. I feel weird enough when my raised florals look similar to someone else's. Because I never do it purposely, but sometimes I see the similarities afterward. But that's technique, so I would hope that other artists who do raised florals would understand. I may take a look a the other artist's ladybugs on flowers just to see that whatever I might do won't be too similar to what she's doing. (Anyone have a pic?) Out of respect rather than legality. Because it's very true that the majority of glass designs and techniques can't be copyrighted because we are all doing something that has been done before. Unless it is extremely unique. Yikes - this topic scares the crap out of me. It's been discussed a lot, and I always try to see every side, but I am always afraid that someone is going to think or say that I copy when I try so hard not to.

Vicki I too want to make some tags that have my mark. I could not get any silver ones in a small quantity. So when I get some PMC I will make my own and stamp them with my hallmark initials. Just a thought for you to make some. Shirley

AND, if you want some gold on it, get some PMC gold past.

It's not cheap though. Get the PMC silver sheet for $27 for sheet about 2

1/2 in square. You could roll it against a textured brass plate for the back. Cut with scissors or Exacto knife into little tags. Stamp your initials, or design, punch a hole. If it will go onto something gold, brush part of it in gold paste. Fire it.
