That frit is awesome. My favorite is it on black base.

That would probably also explain why I own no bead presses... Heheheh...

everyone and their uncle is using it. LOL! I hate doing what everyone else is doing, so I think I'll save it for my furnace work.<

I know what you mean (and frequently think exactly the same way, which is why I'm press-less too LOL), but I WILL say that in the case of the raku frits, the results are so incredibly variable that everyone seems to be finding their own individual voices with it. I'm fascinated by the variations and interactions so far. And I've been sticking just to Gaffer/Uroboros glass with it, so far. The possibilities with Bullseye and Moretti are huge.

I eventually caved to a few of the presses. Some of them like the cube press seem a little silly but I had to have the squeeze. it feels so good.

Hiya Cheryl!

The raku frit is an Olympic color. I think Val said it's Reichenbach, can't think of the number right now, but it's listed as Iris Orange (definitely a bad descriptive). It reacts with so many things in lots of different ways, and I'm totally hooked. It can make soft glass look just like boro (if you like that kind of thing LOL).

It's a Reichenbach frit - striking opal orange R-108 or R-109 - for larger quantities you can get it from Olympic Color Rod in Seattle. Smaller quantities through Val Cox (glasspoet.com) or Carolyn from Bluheeler. And then of course I now know of a Canadian supplier who will be getting several kg of it in next week ... not me, but if you're interested I can give you the details.

Who is your fav. supplier? I went to them mostly because they'd been recommended by a glass blower I know.

I still don't have any! I tend to be a bit slow to catch on to new things, so I was still blinking and saying "wha?" while everyone sold out of the R-108. Sigh! It looks so fun to play with. Mine is on backorder along with everyone else's... grumble grumble...

It's Reichenbach orange #108, and it's on backorder everywhere but should be coming in soon.

Well, you big silly! You're the one that pointed me in the right direction and they told me it was backordered too. BUT! While I was on vacation it arrived!

If you want some, email me and I'll send you some to hold you over. Replying to this won't get you to me though. You either gotta go to my website or use the email you have used before.

Um... now I'm feeling really wierd about my Olympic orders. The first one was supposedly delivered on 8/25, but I never saw hide nor hair of it. Now it's looking like the second one may have vanished, too... this is creepy.
