Re: my best bracelets so far :-)

I think your bracelets look super, Ang! On the purple set - I think you have a great eye for balance and design - each strand is different, yet they all go together very well. Pretty! I love the big black beads on your red/black bracelet - I like the 'chunkiness' of the bracelet as a whole and think the clasp you chose was perfect for the design. Great job!

so I stocked up on black and red beads and just >SAT there with them for a while (do you all do that? -- I'm so new to this),

Um......YEP! I often will buy beads for something, put the appropriate items together in baggies and put them away. Every so often I will drag out a baggie and think about my ideas for the project, and then put it away. I do this more and more frequently up until the time I actually sit down to make the item. By then, I've generally worked out everything in my head. But I love to 'play' too, so even if I have it worked out, I'll still sit and play with the beads for a while, just to 'make sure' what I had in mind is exactly what I'm going to do.

Angela, they look great to me, too! I'd wear either piece, proudly!

I looked through the rest of your site, and I saw lots of pretties. Keep up the good work!

Also, tell me about the "Photo Gallery" technology you use. I liked that, too.

I like those very much - the colors and types of beads all seem to "zing" together. Also, this gives you a firm foundation for the next step: get some spacer bars and make those same bracelets into one multi-strand bracelet. What you want to get away from is something that your recipient could get in a store. You want your own personal taste and talent to shine through. I see it in your pieces, but so many commercial places use the bunched stretch bracelets thing that I'd like to see you distinguish yourself by making things a little different.

I like that very much, too. It's asymetrical but it balanced. I like this bracelet better than the set of stretchy ones, although the stretchy ones are definitely my colors.

And yes, I often have to let the beads sit there and wait for them to tell me what they want to be. Mostly they tell me that they want me to buy them wherever they are, and I have to obey. Just can't help it.

probably don't have a very discerning eye ... YET.<

Ang, I LOVE the bracelet set you made for your sister - the purple miracle beads are just PERFECT in it! And I'm sure your friend is gonna be thrilled with her gift, too. (and yes, I often sit with my beads out for a looooooooong while before actually making anything, LOL). Thanks for sharing!

Amusingly, I think that *you* now have a hank of beads I bought when I was 14.

I always loved that color, never could figure out what to do with it.
