Not keen on either of the Present..variations. It doesn't flow for me, fwiw. Don't know why..maybe too many syllables?
How about:
Tina's Treasures (got the TT thing instead of PP) Northern Lights Artistry Alaskan Artistry Salmonberry Beads
OR just come up with a biz name that you like, that isn't necessarily descriptive. That's what I did, a'course, I don't know how effective it is, but I'm not doing too much with it right now.
I have to say that I agree with this. I like Alaskan Artistry - you can use that for both of your arts. If you're going to go with the presents bit, I would choose Petersons Presents. Not as hard to say. :)
I want to stick with Peterson (maybe shortening to Pete's stuff, or since we have a bog here, even Peat stuff --- No, no, no, I'm joking) because I primarily want to be identified by name.
The "Alaskana" approach has been done to death, and cute or beautiful as they sound, they don't identify me. And those names are already businesses I know!
Vicki, that sales pitch thing is probably the thing that was making me uncomfortable about "presentation". Thanks for identifying it.
The initial thing doesn't bother me. I guess I could go with TP (Tina Peterson) for accessories for the PP. (groan)
Or, we could really go crazy and call it Petersons' Piddlings.
I'm not necessarily looking for anything catchy. Mary Ann Williams Glass A(rtist) isn't catchy, either. And MAWGA, isn't quite an improvement.
I'm going to do the licensing on line this week-end one way or other.
Previously I was Fostered Enterprises. When my husband abandonned me, I took the name Foster as a reminder to nurture myself. And then when I got sober I had this noble idea that I'd like to help other people in recovery (of any kind) to make and sell things to help them express themselves and also earn a little cash.
Now I'm not all that interested in making a statement with my name. Being me is enough. Same as I don't wear T-shirt with words on them. (OK, I make an exception for the women's martial arts retreat). I just want to link my name with my work and still sound like a business. Just a step above DBA.
vj found this in rec.crafts.beads, from "Christina Peterson" :
]Would Petersons Presents be a good name for a fairy bead mother?
i think the only thing that bothers me is that there are two pronunciations for "Presents". so no one, seeing it for the first time, would know which it was supposed to be.
come to think of it, which one DID you mean???

Well, it could be a his and hers. Mine could be presents made with silver and beads, and Pete could be the one who presents. He loves to put on a show, inspite of being quite shy.
Actually, I think that was why I wondered about Presentations.
