It feels as if all those things got left behind in Ohio. Literally. I feel free, and happy again. .....About an hour after I got in the car, I realized that this felt like "my" life again. I felt like me, felt OK. And it is the very first time in a long, long time I have felt that way.>

HURRAH -- Becki ! I am happy for you girl! Seems you have learned a life lesson - it is what you make it - and you can make it yours. Hope you are having fun painting and doing things just for YOU.. (I always did like painting - though I am a very bland painting gal... Queen Anne's lace white... LOL) I am contemplating painting my bedroom in some "modern" color... oh my - what a leap that would be! Have fun! Keep up posted! We want to see pictures too...

Cheryl -- i would give anything on earth right now if I had just told them to paint it all white, LOL. Cause I love white, and am repainting both bathrooms and the bedroom white, LOL Becki "In between the moon and you, the angels have a better view of the crumbling difference between wrong and right." -- Counting Crows

Oh sweetie, I know EXACTLY how you're feeling. Driving back & forth to Tucson all this past week reminded me again of how GOOD it feels to cut loose and start over. This is HOME now, like Philly never was. Be happy, you deserve it ALL!

Sooz -- I know, sorry I couldn't have posted it sooner.

White for my bedroom (all my bedroom stuff is white) and grey for the office. I almost went red for the office, but couldn't decide so went safe. After all, it is just paint. Paint is easy to change. oh gawd how funny.....LOL

Try Lowe's - "Queen Anne's Lace" is a wonderful white.... doesn't turn yellow in regular lighting - and has just the very very very very palest dribble of green in it ... it's the paint that was on the walls in the family room upstairs -- I am repainting the whole house with it (replacing the "linen white" my folks put in.... which goes yellow...bleah!)

Funny, the bedroom I am painting white was green, so some of my white may have the faintest dribble of green in it anyway! LOL. Personally, I prefer white leaning on the gray side. I love cool colors.

Also for Cheryl -- I wish you were here to do the painting, LOL. I hate painting. Just love the results.

Im thinking that your walls must be just crying for some quilted wallhangings. Just as wooden floors make the perfect mat for oriental rugs wooden walls would make the right wall hanging go pop, zing zowie! Diana, who hasnt gotten all the walls painted, yet... but has hung quilty works in progress on them to hide all that WHITE. :-)

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME.

I'm so glad you are here, been watching from the distance about your journey. I just moved back to California after 13 years (only from Nevada though).

Enjoy California.... it's a good place to cheer up :)

Love ya!

ohh to bad!! yep - I love to paint... LOL I got the dining room done this summer and the upstairs hall and staircase from living room to the second floor. Then I hung an antique haori (short japanese kimono style coat) on the wall in the staircase as a focal - looks great.

Actually, I have very little wall space because most of my interior wall are covered with cabinets, or doors or, closets. And the exterior walls are covered with windows, doors, bookcases and wood stove. I have some paintings up but most are stored. I try to have things on my walls be in light colors, because the walls are so thick and the roof has an over hang. Unfortunately, what I really need to do is find new homes for all these things!
