WC again on Copying

I knew it, I knew it...I'm sure I'm of hot topic again at WC because the person who singled me out last time has received PMs I'm sure about my Bonnie Blue auction. :-(

Ugh!

Stop reading WC! Do what you love and ignore the turkeys!! If you don't, Starlia, I'm going to hunt down every person who's ever made a doll bead (and even I've made them, though not in years!) and have them flood you with e-mails to convince you that this other woman didn't invent the doll bead!

Blech - exactly why I left that place. I am sure the thread will be left open, even though it's petty and spiteful.

Starlia, What are you letting other people tell you what you can and can't do? Ignore it. Don't let someone you don't even know define your art. Patti

OK missy... you are grounded from WC for the next to weeks! You can not read anything there and you can not post anything there! Now go to your room and make dolls! Ah-ah-ah... don't want to hear it... just go make dolls. Oh while you are there... some fish, bead scoops, some fairies, elves, angels, gnomes, horses, cacti, and perhaps a few lentils would be nice. :) (((( BIG HUG ))))) I know words can hurt bad... but if they are words constructed of lies.... I would laugh them off and stick my tongue out at them! When we believe an others lie about ourself is when the doctors make a lot of money. :)) Have fun and do what you love to do!

I just read up on the rest of that thread. I LOOOOOOVE what Schermo said!!!!

Don't sweat it, Starlia, it's just some cranky insecure cabin-fever talk.

Believe it or not, it isn't as bad as the other thread.

I just emailed Nicole to let her know that it really got me hot again...but when that happens I do magical things. I had one of the best torch sessions ever and the beads are outstanding. I love it when my creativity gets a boost of adrenaline. :-)

Geez...grounded huh? To my torch? That doesn't sound so bad. :-)

Schermo rocked on her response. I just finished reading it.

I do want to say that I don't feel bad, good, or anything this time. It's just what it is. I had a great torch session and that's all that matters to me.

Wow. That is so right on and I'm just a baby in all this. But you can take it across just about any medium.

I LOVED Shermo's response to this... and what Marisa said stands repeating: "A techinique is just that. A technique. No one owns it. But you can make it your own according to how you use it."

Flame on torchers! :)

This applies to bead weaving and stringing as well I think!

All I can say is, Amen to her post.

Kerry O'connor was knitting wire bracelets incorporating beads in 1986 (I was there, in the same jewelry class as her). Arleen Fisch was knitting wire way before that. Everything I've seen since reminds me of them, but always has it's own style and flavour. A techinique is just that. A technique. No one owns it. But you can make it your own according to how you use it.
