I wear lots of turquoise and have not had a problem with color change. Iwouldn't advise a client to rinse the piece in water, maybe just wipe itdown with a damp cloth after wearing. They'll want to let it dry beforeputting it away.This is real turquoise you're talking about, yes?Best,Deborah

I don't know how small you want to make your jump rings, but if you're making them to solder and not in HUGE quantities, may I suggest the method I was recently taught? Wrap your wire around a wooden dowel, clamp it in a vise, and saw through one side (you can go into the wood, no problem) with a very fine (4/0 or finer) sawblade. You barely lose any metal and you end up with very flush edges ready to solder.

Rio usually has a better selection. Most people use a "jump ringer" (tool for making jump rings). I'm lazy, I buy 'em. I have heard of people going to the hardware store and buying steel rod of various dimensions and cutting it to the proper length for wrapping wire around for jump rings. I've always wondered if it wouldn't be easier to use wooden dowels. They're cheap. They come in all sizes. And they're easy on the saw when you cut off the rings. Yes, you would only get a few usages before the wood need replacing, but then, they're cheap! Barbara Dream Master

Yes, the KoilKutter and Rio's Jumpringer are more automated methods of this.
