I have an enormous collection of obsolete business cards with all my various jobs over the years. I've just started throwing them away - especially the ones with my unmarried name and from companies that no longer exist. I did keep one of each, just for larfs.
But I miss having a card to give to people with a note, or a necklace or whatever. After hearing about Vistaprint from you guys, I decided to go and take a visit at their site. I ordered a box of free cards for myself, and two sets of "personal" cards for the girls. They can be part of their Christmas stuff, and the girls will think that they are so darned cool.
I ordered panda cards for DD, since she's been called Panda forever (because it rhymes with her name). P/T D got dancer cards, because she loves to dance. Best of all was the price: $7.95/box of cards for the kids. Shipping and handling was a little pricey: about $12 for the three boxes of cards. (But still a bargain for me because I won't have to get a ride from someone to pick them up)
There are less than two months left until the annual gift giving orgy, and I'm always on the lookout for things that aren't really expensive that the girls will love. I know that they'll love these things.
Oh yes, I ordered their cards without addresses (for safety) and with their cell phone numbers. The fewer goofy phone calls we get on the home line, the better. Both girls have prepaid phones from Virgin Mobile, and they are incredibly responsible with them. Neither has ever gone over $20/month in user charges. I appreciate the peace of mind knowing that I can reach them and vice versa.

Obligatory bead reference: I'm not doing too well today, and ended up at the doctor's office. I talk to the phone ladies all the time, but I've never actually seen them. Today, I found out why: they hide these poor women in some back room, where they handle the zillions of calls in their huge practice. Fortunately, I had a purse full of bracelets, and took a side trip to the phone room. The ladies (who get more grief than you can imagine), cried and hugged me for remembering them. Made me feel much better than all the meds I'm on.
