not spectacular, but pretty...and the artist lives nearby...hmmm OK, i'm done for the moment. I did notice a lot of nice blue ones out there, finally...do colours go in cycles or something? Because i've been looking for blue lampwork beads for quite some time (not that i can afford them at the moment), and not bright ones...muted colours, like the ones i posted. DH says i can buy some after we get our tax return in March, for playing with when i'm layed up....yippeeee!!!

Meeee tooooo. Sheesh, I have even taken cough medicine, and it is not helping. I can't sleep for more than about 30 minutes at a time. I need to have some ginger tea. Anyone have any other home remedy suggestions for Jalynne and I?

Hot lemon with a dash of whiskey? Hot bath steaming with vicks? (I fill the sink with hot hot hot water and put vicks in while taking a hot shower so the room fills up with steam.. yum.. Echinacea and goldenseal root... moms home made chicken noodle soup... a warm backrub and a sauna... HTH Diana

Not a home remedy, but works wonderfully. Cold-Eze lozenges.

Have they made them taste any better? I bought and tried them when they first came out, and decided that it was better to have a cold than those nauseating things.

i just suck on lots and lots of Ricola and use Vicks....that's all that seems to help. Ok, and yea, i did break down and use some Pedia Care (the only cough medicine in the house) this morning, so i could sleep...

Kandice and Jalynne -- Carol turned me on to Theraflu. It knocks both me and the doctor that I would for out like I took drugs, LOL. I took some this afternoon and slept like a dead person for four hours (and could still BREATHE when I woke up, which was why I took it in the first place).

Oops. And I don't want to tell stories on anyone, but my friend takes Theraflu with a wine cooler when she wants to go to sleep. I hear it works even better.

Haven't heard of those....are they sold in grocery stores? I'll have to get hubby to go to the store....

I tried those once....they don't taste very good. They've also got too many chemicals in them. I'm looking for more natural, preservative and chemical free remedies.

Becki, does it have anything other than natural ingredients? I just can't take any more synthetic chemicals. They're killing me...little by little. For the past three weeks i've been detoxing my body of all preservatives and chemicals, and only eating whole, healthy, hormone free foods. Aside from the flu, this is the best i've felt in years. I don't wanna mess that up now, so if you could look at the label for me, i'd sure appreciate it.

Yeah, Theraflu does work for me too, usually. For some reason, this particular flu bug is really resistant to anything I have tried. It's really pissing me off because I really can't afford to be sick this long at this time of the year. :) I am relatively okay when awake and upright, because I can drink hot liquids. But when I try to lay down to sleep, I cough my head off constantly. It's the kind of cough that hurts my head and is so hard it makes me have to go pee.

Hubby brought home zinc losenges that have a bunch of herbals in them that are supposed to help. Slippery elm, zinc, myrhh (sp?) echinacea, and a couple of other things. I hope they work. :)

ROFL! Do NOT try this at home (or anywhere else, for that matter!!).

Theraflu has drugs in it. A friend of mine just suggested taking fresh ginger root and slicing it up, boiling it in water for awhile, then straining and drinking the tea sweetened with honey. She said to add slippery elm and chamomile - to sooth the throat and help you sleep. I am going to try it tonight.

Yum....i have zinc with C lozenges. They're great. I think that's why this isn't as bad as it could be...i loaded up on them over the last week when i was rehearsing for the weekend concerts with the symphony.

Thanks Kandice...I dont have any ginger root, but i do have ginger tea, so that will have to do for now until i get dh to get me some fresh. I have elm, chamomile, elder flower, echanacia (sic), and honey straws that i can put into my tea...hmmm, i'm getting thirsty now. Just told dh to put the kettle on...LOL Thanks!
