This arrived from Etsy...

It's funny, there's always a customer out there for something! I bought this crazy purple glittery bead off of Etsy and I'm so tickled with it. I don't know how I should make something with it :-) 409 people looked at it before I came along. Funny! The seller said I must have been meant to own it, I think so. It was fate really - someone linked to Etsy in an email and I thought it was their shop I was looking at it, but it happened to be a treasury or something like that.

Christine -- (with a reminder that all taste is personal) -- that is one ugly freaking bead. LOL Can't wait to see what you do with it!!!

LMAO Becki :-D It looks much tamer in normal light, which I thought it would. The red background doesn't do much for it either. I'll try to take my own picture. It really is something to look at...but then, lol, there is no accounting for taste :-)

I'm thinking whatever I make from it, will have gold filled round beads, black and purple seed beads at least.

I need one day all to myself and just work work work, I still have the lovely bead show beads from May to finangle into something!

Thanks for the vote Barbara! It is a nice weight, and all the little bumps on it are so neat to touch. It also has "legs" and can stand up horizontally :-)

The bead appeals to me. Part of the reason is that abstract is so difficult for me. I'm always making beads that you can say, "This is a ......" but sometimes I would like to drag myself out of my little box and do something different. Maybe this bead will inspire me and I'll make something new today.

Yes, he does kind of look fishy...I should suggest that to the artist, maybe she can come out with some crazy fish :-)

It really is hard to see the abstract. I didn't really understand abstract concepts until I started going to the art college. Then it all made sense! It was really weird to be asked to try and illustrate a feeling.

Thanks Val :-) My girlfriends and I went to the LBS on Saturday and I found some jazzy beads to go with him. It was just my luck that they had some purple and aqua leaves. The chameleon has pulled a disappearing act on me at the moment, I'm not sure where he went. I feared he went through the wash, but that wasn't it...I guess he just blends in that well with all my other purple stuff!

I love it! It really does look like a chameleon, too.

Just imagine this guy was purple:
