I suppose you knew that if I found out about Oakshott fabric I would go crazy. But what the heck, I do that anyway. I will never be able to afford to order that yummy linen and cotton handweave fabric but I can look and drool. My goodness, such beauty.

Hey, it's not just the Brits that know about Oakshotts. It's a specialty fabric - like great hand-dyes or marbled, so the price is more inline with that, $16-$18/yard. Ain't they pretty?
Pinwheels.com in NY is their US distributor, or used to be. I don't see anything on their website now but I think if you call, she has the packs available, which is a great way to get acquainted with the fabrics. Honestly, solids never looked so luminous. I don't know how else to explain it....they just vibrate. They use 2 different colors when weaving, and the effect is beautiful.
There is also a seller on etsy that has a small selection.

Would that I could! I have the sewing machine set in its table; but no foot control or plug to power etc has yet emerged ... That is the story with everything: the piano (electric!) is out and set up, but no plug and foot pedal .... So, I am not so much seeking for order as seeking for all the components!

Susan, you've got the right idea. I love my MIL so much I can't even believe it. But she has solved the 'getting rid of things' problem by sending most of them to me. LOL I have steeled myself and tossed (given to Goodwill, usually) everything from bedding to Jello molds. I also have children to consider in the years to come, and neither of them will give half a brain cell before calling in the dumpster service so everything 'special' will be dispersed by me and only to people who really want what I have. Hope folks are honest when the time comes. I don't want to send anybody a stack of .... anything .... that they have to deal with then.
