Scrappity do Dah quilt

May 06, 2010 3 Replies

A group of 10 women from the guild I belong to are exchanging 6" squares of 3 different fabric each month to make this quilt. It will be interesting to see what fabrics we get each month. After we decide how many months we are going to exchange then we will make the quilt. Eachh one will still turn out different because of how we decide to put the fabrics together and our sashings will be different. Here is the pattern if anyone wants to do an exchange with their group.

You will enjoy the project. That McCall's quilt pattern was the starting point for the Pink Ribbon Quilt I made for a friend. I used only pink fabric, with bits of white or other accent. The squares were either light with darker strip or darker pink with pale strip. Then I set them all in same direction .... every strip ran upper left to lower right, not at angles as in the photo. To enhance the Pink Ribbon theme of my project, I asked this RCTQ gang for some small pieces of Pink Ribbon fabric. The response was wonderful (as usual!); I received a cool Lorelei PR Panel and a lovely dove appliqué block in addition to the pink bits. I even received a PR theme little cushion for the patient. My friend was delighted to receive the quilt and amazed that 'strangers' contributed to it! So, I say Thanks again! Pat in Virginia

I've seen this quilt made up, and it's beautiful. I'm hoping to get my "bee" members interested.
