Verdigris finish: Only on copper?

Can you put a verdigris finish on brass or sterling? If so, could someone point me to a resource? I've not been able to find info, and I'm pretty good at looking (Ganoksin and other places).

Thanks!

modernoptions.com setlls stuff at Michael's that does this:

Produce a Patina on Genuine Copper, Brass or Bronze Be certain that the metal surface is clean, including being free of paint, lacquer or varnish. Then scruff up the metal's surface with sandpaper. If using Patina Blue directly on copper, brass or bronze, you must water down PBL by 40%. Patina Green does not need to be watered down for direct use on copper, brass or bronze. Apply several light coats, or one heavier coat. Allow the oxidation to work its magic, oxidation can take up to 3 days. If the color you wanted develops earlier, clear coat when and as desired.

Has anyone here tried this on brass?

My husband recently had to put a brown patina on brass and he just did a google search for "brass patinas". He said to check out this site for formulas and other info.

Do you have Tim McCreight's book? There are some patina recipes in there. You get a nice result by lightly damping sawdust with patina solution and covering the piece with the sawdust (not to wet and don't pack the piece in too tightly). I had a bunch of recipes somewhere, if I can find them I'll send them to you.

I know brass will verdigris... check out a company called Modern Options; they have two patinating solutions, one blue and one green. It induces an actual chemical patina, so if you want it to keep you'll have to laquer it.

Oh, you already fund it! Well, if no one has answered this yet, yes, I've tried it on brass and it works nicely.

Spritzing it with water, sprinkling salt on it, and then covering it with damp paper towels and a piece of Saran wrap works well too.
