oohhh .. you are such a mongrel sometimes J - I'm having enough trouble avoiding it right now as it is - so far my main excuse is that the torch I'm experimenting with for silver will not do glass! (at least for now I hope it won't) Thanks for the offer Kalera, but I'm sure nothing would survive the trip to oz and don't take ANY notice of what J or Di tell you - they just want me hooked on more things - like I need any help with that!

Ok, Kalera, did you read that?? It's like throwing down the gauntlet, methinks.

Hey J - didn't you say something yourself about wanting to do lampwork ? and silver wire work and poly clay and lots of other stuff that I'll come up with ideas for ? I think you'd be so much better at them all than me so I should just go back to trying to burn the house down while experimenting with silver scraps.

Oh, definately. "wouldnt survive the trip to Oz." hmphhhh. As IF. Cas, honey.... havent you heard... bubble wrap. ;-) Now you just let these nice enablers do their job and relax. Its not like you have a chance of resisting. Glass is already calling to you. Go read that very informative thread going on about the kit on ebay and start saving up for a concentrator and those other thingys. We are the Borg, you will be assimilated, resistance is futile. Don't you worry your pretty little head about me, cas. I'm already making plans for all of those things, when I get settled somewhere permanently. You, on the other hand, ARE somewhere permanent.

Pshaw! I send beads to Australia all the time! They'd get there just fine. Now give me your addy or I'll just bribe Jalynne into sending them for me. ;)

Making plans for when you get settled permanently sounds like when I was waiting for everything to be "perfect" (including the planets being in the exact perfect alignment) before starting jewellery and beading - in other words DON'T WAIT cos you'll never get started !! You don't need permanent for poly clay or wirework for starters. Don't ask me about the lampwork though cos I'm not going there (I will not get addicted!!! I will not get addicted!!! I will not get addicted!!!)

You make a very very good point. Waiting for someday means you may never get around to following your dreams. Life is a banquet. Eat all you want. Find a way. Diana ps and yes you will cas, yes you will. :-)

Practically speaking, being in the military, there is no way I can do lampwork right now. We can't move the propane and/or oxygen tanks, and the equipment is just too expensive to leave at the mercy of the movers. So....when we buy a house and settle in....that's when I'll start getting serious about it. I am doing polyclay for now, and perhaps some wire work. I've borrowed some videos that I will be working with in ernest next week, to see if it's something that I want to do more seriously.

Di's right, cas. You will!
