sad day!

I sent this on Friday but I see it didn't show up so I'll send it again. At 4:18 p.m. today our dog Leo was put to sleep. He stopped walking so we took him to the vet and found that he was full of cancer. He was a wonderful, very much loved dog for 8yrs 6mos and 12 days. My eyes hurt from crying so much, he will be missed very much! We are going away for a few days tomorrow so this just might be what we all need right now! If you have a pet hug them tight and loved them while you can because no matter how long we have them it's never long enough! Barb

:::Tigger & I send lots of hugs your way:::

At 20 years & 2 months, I know I'm living on borrowed time with him. I dread maybe having to make that decision for him one day. Couldn't do it with my first cat; we'd been together since I was 7 & he lived to be almost 18.

May you find comfort in knowing that he's not suffering.

I'm so sorry Barb. I know that was a hard decision to make, since I've made it myself before. Rest assured he's not hurting anymore, though.

Barb,

I am so sorry to hear this. I have an older dog that is having trouble getting around lately. It just breaks my heart to think about loosing her. We are such luckly people to have/had such wonderful pets. I will make sure I give Allie a hug today.

Hugs to you and your family, Tammy

Barb....so sorry to hear you had to put Leo to sleep :( I feel your sadness, as I lost a fur baby about three months ago. Came home after seeing a litter of shih tzu puppies my young dog had sired and found my precious Skye dead in her bed. No sign that she was ill or had died in pain....she just seemed to have gone to sleep and drifted off. My sadness was that we were not there for her at the end but she was not quite 10 years...so her passing was not expected for many years yet :(

I am so sorry for your loss Barb! I have two dogs and cats and have not had to go through the loss of a pet yet. They are our four legged furry children and I don't even want to think about losing them but I do know one thing...I would never want them to suffer either. You did the most loving thing a pet owner could do and the hardest. I like to beleive that our animals go where we go. If that is the case my boy loved dogs and I'm sure he will have great fun with Leo!

Take care of yourself, (((Hugs))) Michelle P.

So, sorry to hear about your loss. I have a friend that lost her cat this week to due to tragic circumstances. I don't think we're ever prepared to lose our furry children. My heart goes out to you and yours.

I am sorry to hear your loss. We too recently lost our 2 dogs, fortunately, it was different circumstances... In some ways easier, in some ways harder than having to have one put to sleep. We lost our home recently to foreclosure, and the landloard we are renting our lot from won't allow us to have pets. We had a Dachshund named Hot Dog and a Chiauahah named Little Bit. We looked for 2 weeks straight for someone from friends to church members to care for our babies for 6 months or so and no one would. We ended up having to take ours tot he humane society, which luckily is an EXTREMELY low kill (like almost never). As it turns out I was sitting outside with them while DM was inside talking to the staff adn a lady came up and fell inlove with Little Bit, he didn't have to go into the humane society, hot Dog did. I called at the end of the next week and we turned him in on a Thursday, they are closed on Friday and on that Saturday he was adopted. It is comforting to know that they are in homes, but on the other hand it's not like they were unwanted; and not only our home was just taken away from us, but it felt like our babies were too. It makes me so angry at the landloard.

Barb,

So sorry to hear of lost. Furbabies are so important in our lives. I can't imagine losing Tigger (our cat) or Buddy (our dog). I will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Sorry for piggy backing Linda.

Oh Barb! I'm so sorry! I never have the right words for some one who looses a dear companion, but know this - I appreciate your pain, because I know it hurts terribly right now. I think we love our animal friends so much, because of their loyal and unconditional love for us. Take comfort in all the happy memories of Leo and know that you gave him a good and loving home.

I'm so sorry for your loss. :*( My brother's dog Cabu went in a similar way this summer, and she was almost 18 when she died--very hard on them, as they lost her playmate Aurora in an pool accident last summer about this same time. :*(

We'll meet them all again at the Rainbow Bridge some day.

Take care, Carolyne in TX

When my beloved Ollie died my heart felt like it was ripped out.

Elizabeth & I travelled upstate a week before he was put down and it was heart wrenching to see our westie wimper as he came over for some loving. He loved soccer, scratches, and us.

We know he is playing in heaven with Max (our other dog who was killed by a drunk driver.) waiting for us to come to play.

I send you heart felt prayers and a hug.

Kate
