hi all! I just finished the last of over 60 page updates on my website...included is the remodeled "projects" page, which also has a link on it now for the RCB challenge that Rqachel posed a while back. Also new is the link to some experiments with polymer clay and rubberstamps and inks. Actually, a LOT is new, do have a look around!
You are just AMAZING! I loved looking through the new stuff on your site. I'm hoping that Michaels or Hobby Lobby have a polymer class that my daughter (9) and I could take together. I'd love to try it, and so would she.
if they do, may I make a suggestion? Don't sit right next to her. I always separate the moms and kids physically (just by a foot or two!!!) when I have a set in class and then they treat each other more like equal students. Too many times we moms want to "help" just a little when they really don't need it--and if she's there but not attached at the hip, a mom can deal with any needs that DO come up, but not be quite so "on duty", if you know what I mean. You can both have fun that way, and have a neighbor at the table that is different from the daily thing.
Its GREAT to clay with your kids! I betcha a bead you will be very impressed at what she comes up with AND ahave a lot of fun yourself! Sarajane
Lol. Yes, I've already thought of that. They had a "bartering day" in an arts program she's in, where all the kids make stuff (12-15 items) and then trade with each other. We walked around and looked at everything, so she could see what she wanted to barter for, and then I had to leave so I wouldn't say, ".........but oh, look at this!....don't you want one of these......" and point out something that *I* wanted her to trade for. It was a lot of fun to sit back and watch the kids trading things with each other though.
