Yes, I have. With excellent results!

I bought some cheap floor mats at Walmart ($7). Thick ones would be too hard to embroider on, so the thin cheap ones worked best.

I used my Hoop-it-all with sticky stabilizer, then centered my design area on the hoop. With the front floor mats I had to roll up the extra material and clamp it to hold it rolled up and out of the way. A stabilizer on top ensured that the design didn't sink into the pile carpet. I used a Reynolds Oven bag (you could also use a Solvy disolveable stabilizer).

Dulls a needle pretty quickly, but worth it. You can see pictures of my project at:

If this hadn't worked I was going to buy some upholstery material and embroider on that; then construct a floor mat with it.

They weren't the ones with the pointy rubber were they? Even so I bow right next to 5 foot 2.
