Custom Embroidery?

Jul 29, 2003 5 Replies

Anyone on this group have a machine that can do custom embroidery? The local shops want to charge a $60 set-up fee. I don't know a lot about the set-up process, but I'm thinking it doesn't take an hour to do.

I have a one-color logo, about 2" x 5" that I would like embroidered on a piece of Nylon fabric and wondered if anybody on here might want to make a few bucks off their machine. I'm looking for someone that would would be interested in repeat business because I'll probably need a couple each month. If anyone's interested, please contact me for more details at snipped-for-privacy@houston.rr.com

Thanks!

have an embroidery machine...but if i understand you correctly, the local shop is charging you 65- to digitize the logo. this is actually a very reasonable fee...it takes time to digitize it (meaning taking it from an image to something the embroidery machine recognizes) as well as test stitching it out, ect.....

Wrongo! I just spent one night (maybe 3 hours) digitizing a simple image (mountain), running a test run (35,000 stitches) that took 85 minutes, to complete and will need to alter the digitized image yet again (arggh!). So day three is coming up.

So maybe $60 is really cheap for a setup! After that, you can negotiate price.

But my design only uses one color, shouldn't that be simple? It's just a name with a figure in the middle.

try and send me the image and i will tell you how long time it will take to digitize....

Best regards.
