Customizer 2000 and the reader/writer would do the job.

The Janome Australia site should have a locater so you can find a dealer in your area who would be able to provide pricing information.

The Customiser IS the way to go. I bought it with my 9000, the blank cards are rather expensive but I still use mine and have had my

Give me a note directly, and I will tell you what I have done with my 300e Janome to get around the expense.

Customizer would be the least expensive Janome option. There may be other software/hardware combinations, from other companies, that would also work.

You need no additional software to download designs for a

300e. Simply get a compact flash card and USB card reader/writer, and a PCMCIA adapter for inserting the card into the machine. Here in the Great White North, the card, reader/writer and adapter each run around $20. You can download designs directly to the card and the 300e will find them. Or you can download them to a folder on your hard drive and then copy them to the CF card as you need/want them.

However she would only be able to download JEF files. I recommend Embrid, you can get it online (by downloading it for about $85.00)

Just a note: the 9000 uses only SEW files, and proprietary "memory cards", so the Customizer package with reader/writer, or similar software/hardware combination, is required to get the designs to the sewing machine. I believe Embird would be a good choice for converting designs to SEW format.
