Does the bobbin sensor on this machine just give a signal (via the blinking LED) or is it designed to actually stop the machine before the bobbin thread runs out?

I have a Pfaff 7570. The bobbin sensor will blink when the bobbin thread is low. It doesn't actually stop the machine until you total run out of thread.
