I use 12wt. cotton thread for Redwork. Usually "red", but Blue works well too. Some people do designs in Black. Nana

I just did some redwork designs and I used various shades and combinations of the fallowing to see how they looked ... very interesting effects :) the best ones I came up with in my opinion are purple and blue, gold and green. It also depends on what color of fabric you are using some colors of thread look better than others.
