Your recipe, please

It's been 8 months. I have struggled to learn my Brother PE 770 and the writing software I bought - BES embroidery lettering from Pacesetter. Okay. Can't say that I've won either battle but we do have some sort of peace. BUT. Everything I embroider still has what Mama called a 'cat face'. Sort of a squinched look about it. Except one. I fused one layer of fabric to another with Therm O Web heat'n'bond and then used Aqua melt adhesive backing. That one doesn't have the squinchies. It is about as flexible as roofing. Wonder what's the next experiment? Do you suppose that the tension setting for either upper or bobbin is too tight? I am reminded of the tom cat that fell in love with the lady skunk. I have enjoyed about as much of this as I can stand. Polly
